Facilitator Notes: Boundaries in Context
Support a person’s choice while attending to power, culture, and practical constraints.
Facilitator guidance
Assess power, dependency, employment pressures, disability, and possible retaliation before encouraging a direct statement. A private plan, delayed response, or specialist support may be more appropriate than confrontation. Do not prescribe eye contact or a single culturally preferred communication style.
